For the home theater ultimate experience, experts agree that the optimal location for the central speaker is behind the screen and at its center, horizontally aligned with the right and left speakers.

With its new proprietary ClearPix fabrics, Screen Research is introducing the first screen to make this possible without any compromise in picture or sound quality.

True Acoustic Transparency
Unlike perforated screens, ClearPix uses a patented fiber structure that is geometrically optimized for a perfect acoustical transparency. There are no holes, and the screen absorbs virtually none of the acoustic energy flowing through it.

As a result, with ClearPix you can place the dialogue-channel loudspeaker behind the screen and at the proper height for optimum sound and image coherence.

The screen absorbs only a negligible portion of the acoustic energy flowing through it (see graphs), so there is no need for equalization, and no minimum clearance between the screen and the speakers.

Unlike perforated screens, no reflection deteriorates the acoustic response.

Vivid, Moiré-free picture
ClearPix fabrics have been specifically designed to totally discard any interference with a pixel matrix, up to the highest HDTV resolution available.

The holes in a perforated screen create interference patterns known as “Moiré” when used with DLP or LCD projectors. The only way to eliminate these patterns is to use a screen surface with no visible black or dark perforations – which is exactly what ClearPix provides.

Our range of fabrics
ClearPix1 and ClearPix2 both offer stunning sound transparency and a vivid and neutral picture. These patent-pending fabrics are made with Screen Research proprietary threads, which are designed and dyed to provide optimum light scattering, neutral color-rendition and optimum opacity.

The ClearPix1 fabric is a very fine knitted matte white fabric with a gain of 0.95, and is available for fixed screens.

The ClearPix2 fabric is a woven fabric made of coated fibers, with a diagonal weave structure. It is available in Matte White (gain 0.95) and Pearl Grey (gain 0.75) and can be used with fixed or motorized screens.  ClearPix2 is THX Ultra Certified without equalization.

The fabrication of ClearPix fabrics is thoroughly controlled to ensure the desired air permeability and the best image rendition.
